Our WorkAs the leading inter-governmental organization promoting humane and orderly migration, IOM plays a key role to support the achievement of the 2030 Agenda through different areas of intervention that connect both humanitarian assistance and sustainable development. IOM Egypt raises awareness of 500 young people on climate change effects on peace during LCOY
In the light of IOM’s Migration, Environment and Climate Change Strategy and in conjunction with the preparations for the 27th Conference of the Parties (COP27), IOM Egypt raised the awareness of 500 young people on the dangers of climate change to peace and its effects on conflict within the activities of the Local Youth Conference (LCOY). It also as highlighted the role of youth in mainstreaming environmental policies into national and local strategies and the role of social and financial transfers in building resilience to climate change.
