Alexandria, 19 December 2019 – The International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Egypt conducted an awareness-raising event for migrants from the South Sudanese, Syrian and Yemini communities at the Jesuit Cultural Center in Alexandria, Egypt. 170 migrants attended the event aiming at presenting IOM missions and the different services and protection assistance available, highlighting the risks linked to irregular migration and promoting best practices to fight counter trafficking. Awareness raising and care material have been distributed.
Cairo, 19 August - In March 2019, LaLiga and IOM Egypt signed a partnership in Cairo, Egypt, with the aim of raising awareness on the benefits of migration as well eradicating racial discrimination.

This year’s theme was “Migration across EU - MENA Region: New Perspective, New Understanding”.
Cairo, April 28- The UN Migration Agency (IOM) in Egypt and the National Coordinating Committee on Combatting and Preventing Illegal Migration and Trafficking in Persons (NCCPIM&TIP) launched song and video clip “Fares” in cooperation with UNICEF Egypt as part of the second the national awareness raising campaign on the dangers of irregular migration, with the endorsement of popular Egyptian artists Zap Tharwat and Ahmed Shiba.
Cairo, March 26 – To mark the International Day of Happiness, IOM Egypt launched its first edition of “Bring your Kids to Work” day initiative, staff members were invited to bring their kids to the office premises for the day. The day aimed at helping children learn and understand what their parents do at work in a dynamic and engaging manner. The event also introduced IOM’s work and basic migration concepts.
Cairo, 07-09 November – IOM organized two community cohesion days, with the participation of the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and Tadamon, to respond to the immediate health and nutrition needs of both migrant and Egyptian communities.
