- 2030 Agenda
IOM has been supporting the endeavors of the Government of Egypt to produce timely and reliable migration data, mainly through strengthening the capacity of government officials on understanding the nexus of migration and development as well as collecting and reporting on migration. IOM capacity building activities are also meant to support Egypt to report on migration related indicators, as part of the country’s commitment to reporting on progress towards achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). In that vein, the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS), Ministry of Manpower (MoM), and Ministry of State for Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates’ Affairs (MoSEEA) have been the main national counterparts from IOM Egypt, given their mandates.
