Cairo/Hannover, Germany, 7 December – UN Migration Agency (IOM) Egypt and the Embassy of Germany successfully facilitated the resettlement of 256 refugees of several nationalities such as Syrian, Iraqi, Somali, Eritrean, Iranian, Sudanese and South Sudanese from Egypt to Germany. The group boarded a charter flight from Cairo on the 7th of December, and landed in Hannover. Another charter flight will be scheduled to depart early 2018.
Cairo, 21 March 2017 - IOM Egypt opened its migration health assessment centre (MHAC) on March 16th to provide full health assessments to refugees and migrants migrating from Egypt.

Cairo, 31 July 2016 - IOM Egypt has inaugurated the first independent migration health assessment centre (MHAC) to provide full health assessments to refugees going through the resettlement process of five main destination countries.
Cairo, 4 February 2016 – IOM, in coordination with UNHCR and the Governments of Canada and Egypt, successfully moved 39 Syrian refugees from Egypt to Toronto, Canada. They were the first of 600 Syrian refugees in Egypt IOM is assisting to make new lives in Canada.
