    Cairo, 20 April 2016 - Following World Health Day (WHD) on 7 April, which had a 2016 theme of “Beat Diabetes”, IOM Egypt yesterday organized an event for migrant communities at Cairo’s Sayyeda Zeinab Cultural Park for Children, in cooperation with Tadamon, the Egyptian Refugee Multicultural Council.

  • Egypt’s NCCPIM Undertakes Study visit to Italy

    Cairo, 25 March 2016 - Eleven senior officials from the National Coordinating Committee on Preventing and Combatting Illegal Migration (NCCPIM) have undertaken a study visit organized by the International Organization for Migration (IOM Egypt) to Italy on best practices for the protection of vulnerable migrants, with particular emphasis on unaccompanied migrant children (UMC). 

  • IOM Returns Orphan to Begin New Life with Extended Family in the Philippines

    Cairo, 15 March 2016 - IOM returned a new-born child to her extended family in the Philippines after the passing away of her mother in Cairo.

    IOM worked closely with the Embassy of the Philippines in returning the new born. The Embassy conducted necessary family tracing procedures prior to departure and secured relevant travel documents and an escort. IOM assisted through the provision of medical assistance and covered the transportation costs for the orphan.

  • IOM Organizes First Syrian Refugee Flight from Egypt to Canada

    Cairo, 4 February 2016 – IOM, in coordination with UNHCR and the Governments of Canada and Egypt, successfully moved 39 Syrian refugees from Egypt to Toronto, Canada. They were the first of 600 Syrian refugees in Egypt IOM is assisting to make new lives in Canada in February, of whom approximately 47 per cent are children.

  • It's a Match! IOM Launches its First Clickfunding Campaign to Promote Social Cohesion in Egypt
